PIAM elects Antony Lee as Chairman
KUALA LUMPUR, APRIL 27, 2016 – The General Insurance Association of Malaysia has elected Antony Lee, CEO of AIG Malaysia as its new Chairman.
He was elected at PIAM’s Annual General Meeting that was held on Friday, 22 April 2016, for the 2016/2017 term of office. At the same event, the heads of other sub-committees were also elected to office.
He served as the Deputy Chairman of PIAM for the 2015/2016 term, and also presided over the trade association’s Education sub-committee, where he helped pioneer the associations internship programme (GIIFT).
With his chairmanship, Antony will also sit on the boards of the ASEAN Insurance Council, the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), the Financial Mediation Bureau, the Central Administration Bureau (CAB) Supervisory Board, the Vehicle Theft Reduction Council (M) Bhd and the National Payments Advisory Council (NPAC).
“I am privileged and honored to continue serving PIAM. This year is a landmark year for the industry, particularly with Bank Negara's recent announcement of de-tariff for the Auto and Fire sectors. The market landscape will change and we need to seize the opportunity to create greater awareness and encourage innovation to benefit society,” he said.
