Manulife And AIG Expand Agent Network In Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 25 March 2015 – Manulife Insurance Berhad and AIG Malaysia Insurance Berhad have signed an official Memorandum of Understanding to market each other’s products via each party’s network of agents.
Through this partnership, the agency channel for both companies will benefit from an integrated and unified service offering, while providing customers with a broad range of life and general insurance products and services.
This strategic alliance marks a significant milestone for Manulife and AIG. It plays an integral role in enhancing both party’s agents’ distribution capability and market diversification.
“I see this relationship as being highly complementary, especially to facilitate the professional development of agents in both companies. This partnership allows us to work more closely together and reach our common goal of being able to offer clients a wider suite of wealth, life and general solutions through professional advisory,” said George Chew, Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Insurance Berhad.
As part of the MoU, a series of training and development programmes will be conducted to equip and support both Manulife and AIG agents. This is to ensure excellent quality of service to clients.

The first batch of Manulife and AIG agents are expected to complete their training and start representing each other’s products in May 2015.
